All Blacksmithing Courses start with a session of nail-making followed by a demo of the days “assignment”. After this you will get working, aiming at getting as much time in at the anvil as possible. Each Blacksmithing Course comes with a work sheet which goes through the various stages of making, materials, measurements etc - though there is not much time for reading... it’s all about swinging a hammer! There is always a line-up of projects to get stuck in to; depending on your level of skill you will complete one or more items.
The nature and intensity of the craft draws everybody in, and as the day progresses each will have made a few mistakes, but have also achieved more than they thought possible. This creates a great atmosphere within the group.... playing with fire, hot steel and hammers is great fun!
Price includes all materials and refreshments only. Lunch can be purchased at the café. Alternatively bring your own pack lunch.
