The Experience
Discover Cork and Kerry with this
unique walking tour. Explore the Irish peninsulas of
Beara and
Dingle, both of which are very much affected by the gulf-stream so you will will be able to admire subtropical plants like palms and rhododendron copse, which are very unique in this part of
Europe.
Your walking tour will start by leaving
Dublin at 8am. Your first three overnight stays will be Allihies, a small village which is tucked away from the rest of the world by the Caha Mountains.
In the following days you will have the chance to enjoy exhilarating views along the Beara peninsula whilst walking along Knockoura.
The Discover Cork and Kerry walking tour means not only discovering the coastline but also the second tallest mountain in Ireland – Mount Brandon. Enjoy the breathtaking
scenery while driving through the Ring of Beara and walking through the untouched wilderness of
Ireland.
Itinerary
First Day
- pick up at Dublin City Centre at 8:00am (optional pick up in Shannon at lunchtime)
- stopover and picnic overlooking Shannon River
- way down to West Cork’s village Allihies
Second Day
- walking up ‘hungry Hill’ (685m tall)
- finishing this day’s walk in the Southwest Hills of Ireland
Third Day
- walking up Knockoura and Knockgour Hills
Fourth Day
- leaving Beara peninsula over Healy Pass to Killarney
- lunch and afternoon in Killarney
- make the way onto Dingle peninsula
Fifth Day
- drive over Connor Pass to start of our walking tour of this day
- discover Ireland’s second highest mountain, Mount Brandon
- back in Dingle we will have a small walk around the village and see Fungi the infamous dolphin
- experience an evening full of Gaelic music and be prepared to learn some words in Gaelic as well!
Sixth Day
- slowly meandering through Fuchsia lined rows our destination of today will be Slea Head
- walk on the bare cliffs and feel the wind on your skin
- finish the walk in Ballyferriter
- little hurling session on a small beach
- menu for tonight: Irish Stew!
Seventh Day
- drive to Annascaul village where the walk will start
- today’s walk will last about 12km in length with a total height 750m
Eighth Day
- way back to Dublin City Centre
- stopover and lunch at Sean Ryan’s Castles
Vital Information
The Discover Cork and Kerry walking tour starts and ends in Dublin City. You will be picked up and brought back by our bus!
