Itinerary of this 8 Days Walking Tour
First Day
- Pick up at 8:00 am in Dublin City Centre
(optional pick ups at Shannon – midday and Galway – afternoon)
- Stroll around Phoenix Park
- Lunch in Galway City
- Make our way to Connemara National Park
- Four overnights stays at Killary Harbour
Second Day
- 4 hours walk to Kylemore Abbey and relax there
- Evening may be spent in local village, with having an Irish dance evening
Third Day
- 11km walk on loose stones to sacred mountain Croagh Patrick
- Enjoy stunning views over Clew Bay (where the most feared female pirate had her
castle)
Fourth Day
-Walk to Gleninagh and Bencollaghduff (part of the twelve pins)
- In case of bad weather there will be an easier route to walk, as this walk can be quite challenging
Fifth Day
- Leaving Killary in the morning to Rossaveal in Galway
- Boarding the boat to Aran Islands, arrival in Kilronan in the afternoon
Sixth Day
- Discover the history of the southern part of the island just by wandering down the roads and crossing the fields
- Today you will see the Black Fort, isolated beaches, St. Benin’s Church, giant waves crashing against the rocks and a view of Synge’s Chair
Seventh Day
- 5 hours walk which is called the ‘ring of Aran walk’
- See one of the most magnificent forts Europe has to offer - Dun Aonghasa
- Have exhilarating views out of this fort of Irishmore and the Connemara Coast
- Highlights on this day: seal colony, Kilmurvey Beach, Dun Aonghasa
Eighth Day
- Return to Dublin City Centre
- Stopover at 5th century monastery of Clonmacnois
