The Experience

The Private Hawk Walk experience for two is a perfect experience for anybody who wants to do something extraordinary. Your Hawk Walk experience will last for 60 minutes and is private for you and your friend only. Located in the beautiful county Mayo, in the exclusive castle that is Ashford Castle, you will have hands-on experience of flying hawks. Within minutes you will be introduced to a hawk each and will be setting off, around the beautiful grounds of Ashford Castle, where you will both fly your hawks free. Most of the Hawk Walk time is spent with you both flying your hawks. As you fly the hawk around the gardens of Ashford Castle, your falconer will explain about the history of falconry, the hawks’ exceptional eyesight, their speed and agility and how the hawks are trained.

Vital Information

Minimum age for the Private Hawk walk experience is 7 years old. The experience is private and will not be shared with other participants. Reduced rates applies for additional participants, please contact customer service for more information.

The Weather

The Private Hawk Walk experience is not fully weather dependent, in case of heavy rain the Hawks will not be able to fly well.

This falconry experience lasts for 60 minutes.

Spectators

A small number of Spectators are welcome to accompany the participant, free of charge. To be part of the falconry experience, spectators are encouraged to purchase additional vouchers to experience the whole Hawk Walk.
