Itinerary for your Southern Tour of Ireland
Day 1
- Travel to Glendalough and visit the Guinness Lake
- 3 hours walk through the majestic Glendalough
- Dinner, overnight stay at a B&B
Day 2
- Walk through the medieval city of Kilkenny
- Travel to the famous Rose of Tralee with a stop in Limerick City
- Head onwards to Dingle where a delicious pot of Irish stew awaits
Day 3
- 4 hours walk to the second highest mountain, Mount Brandon
- Walk through the village of Dingle and see Fungi, the infamous dolphin
- Gaelic music experience in the evening
Day 4
- Meander slowly through Slea Head, which is an archaeologists’ heaven (it’s the place where Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman was filmed)
- Finish the walk in Ballyferriter, an old Gaeltacht village, where you will learn a few sentences in Gaelic
- Experience Hurling, a sport indigenous to Ireland, at a little beach
Day 5
- On our way to Killarney we will climb Ireland’s highest mountain, Carrauntohill
- See the Gap of Dunloe and stop there for little break
- The evening will be spent in Killarney to enjoy festivities in this great town
Day 6
- Travelling to west coast by crossing the river Shannon, which divides Ireland in two
- Entering Co. Clare, arriving in Burren and seeing the Cliffs of Moher
- Overnight stay in Doolin
Day 7
- Departure from Doolin in the early morning with a stop at Corcomroe Abbey in the village of Kinvara
- Arriving at the final destination Galway in time for lunch
