Georgian Dublin is a unique 18th century district intermixed with a few 19th century Government institutions, and is submitted as a UNESCO world heritage site. The walking tour will cover many vibrant aspects of Dublin life and heritage. Dawson Street will reveal, among many other features, the church where Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, was married. Kildare Street, home to the Irish Parliament, has the National Library and the National Museum where the walking tour will briefly pop in to see the Bog Bodies, a unique look at a violent past of two millennia ago. From there the tour will continue to a 17th century Huguenot graveyard and then, rather unexpectedly, into an area of splendid Georgian squares, long elegant terraces where many famous people lived, a tranquil park and a remarkable statue to a famed writer, Oscar Wilde. The walking tour will pass through the National Gallery and into the exceptional campus of Trinity College (founded 1592) where it will be possible to hear fascinating stories about the university and its famous graduates. There is an option of ending the walking tour with discounted entry into the Book of Kells exhibition which can be arranged directly with the guide.
