Ever since the Middel Ages Venice is well known for the beautiful music. The symbol of Venice and it's music is the Teatro La Fenice, which was inaugurated in 1792. A key figure in Venice's music history is Antonio Vivaldi. The Chiesa della Pietà still hosts musical performances with programmes dedicated to Vivaldi as well as to other Baroque composers.
