The Experience
Your visit begins when you arrive at Avondale Forest Parks main reception to gain entry to the start of the Treetop Walk.
You will then step onto the wooden boardwalk over the Avonmore River Valley. The path rises taking you from ground level right up through the tree canopy. Along the walk you will get to enjoy interactive play areas and games that teach you all about local birds and wildlife.
As you follow the boardwalk you will pass many different tree species before going through a short underground tunnel that leads straight to the Viewing Tower. From the bottom you will start climbing the ramped spiral walkway that goes around the outside of the tower.
When you reach the top you will be 38 metres up in the air where you will see views right across Avondale Forest Park and the Wicklow Mountains. When you're ready to go back down you can choose, for an extra fee, to ride the giant slide inside the tower or you can walk back down the ramp. Afterwards you can explore the rest of the park which includes the walled garden playground and forest trails.
