Tout récemment, une partition de Pierre Boulez a été retrouvée à Bâle, à la Fondation Sacher (qui conserve les sources manuscrites du compositeur). Intitulée Prélude, Toccata et Scherzo, cette oeuvre de jeunesse, qui n’a jamais été donnée en concert, laisse deviner ce que seront ensuite les grandes pièces pour piano de Pierre Boulez. Ralph van Raat, qui a côtoyé John Adams, Helmut Lachenmann, Gyorgy Kurtag, Arvo Pärt et bien d'autres, en propose une lecture analytique permettant d'apprécier la modernité prophétique de l'œuvre de Boulez.
