Take your place at the shooting range near Carrick-on-Shannon and get ready to tackle 30 clay targets. This experience gives you the chance to discover how challenging it can be to hit a moving target, with every shot offering another opportunity to get your timing right.
Before you begin, you'll receive a demonstration of safe shotgun handling and an explanation of how the shooting session works. There's no need to have tried clay pigeon shooting before, as beginners are welcome.
When it's your turn to shoot, the automatic clay trap sends targets into the air at different speeds. You'll need to watch their movement, take aim and judge when to fire. Low-velocity cartridges are used to help reduce recoil against your shoulder.
As you work through your 30 clays, you'll start to get a feel for following the targets and timing your shots. There's plenty of satisfaction in seeing a clay break in mid-air, especially when you've been working on getting your aim right.
This experience is for one person and includes 30 clay targets.
A safety demonstration is provided before shooting begins. All firearms are handled under the supervision and control of the activity centre.
