The Experience
Your visit starts when you arrive at Clonakilty Distillery and join your guide for an introduction to the family farm where the barley is grown.
You will then go to the main floor to see the active production area where your guide takes the group through each stage of the distilling process. You will get a closeup look at the stills and see how the team crafts whiskey, gin and vodka on site. You will also get to learn about the raw ingredients and the precise steps required to make each batch.
After this you will both get the chance to visit the Cask Room to examine the selection of barrels used for maturing the spirits. Your guide will explain how wood selection influences the developing flavours as the whiskey rests in the warehouse over time.
Once the tour is finished you will have the opportunity to take a seat in the Speakeasy tasting bar for a guided sampling. You can each enjoy two 20ml measures of award-winning whiskies while learning what flavour notes to look out for. If either of you prefers something different you can swap your sample for gin or vodka.
