The Experience
Your visit starts when you arrive at Clonakilty Distillery and join your guide for a quick introduction to the family farm where the barley is grown.
You will walk through the active production area while your guide walks the group through each stage of the process. You will see the stills up close and learn how they craft their whiskey, gin and vodka on site. You will hear all about the raw ingredients and the precise steps required to distill each batch.
You will visit the Cask Room to examine the different barrels used for maturation. Your guide will explain how wood selection impacts the flavour as the spirit sits in the warehouse over time.
To finish your 75 minute tour you will take a seat in the Speakeasy tasting bar for a guided sampling session. You will get to try two 20ml measures of their award winning whiskies while learning what notes to look out for. If whiskey isn't your preference you can swap your sample for gin or vodka.
