Your visit will start when you step inside the iconic General Post Office. As you move through the gallery, you will follow the events of the 1916 Easter Rising in the very building that served as the rebel headquarters.
The display uses interactive screens, audio clips and authentic period items to show you how the uprising started and why it changed Ireland's political trajectory.
While you look around you will get the chance to watch a dedicated film created specifically for the museum that breaks down the timeline of the conflict.
Because this is a self guided tour you can spend as much time as you like inspecting the artefacts or reading through the background stories. You will also get a look at how the building fit into broader modern Irish history after the revolution concluded.
