The Experience
There's another side to Dublin's history that doesn't always make it into the guidebooks. On this two-hour evening walking tour, discover the darker stories behind some of the city's oldest streets, from notorious crimes to ghostly encounters that have become part of local folklore.
Beginning near Dublin City Hall, follow your guide through the city centre and hear about Darkey Kelly, an 18th-century woman whose execution became the subject of local legend. You'll also discover the Green Lady of St Audoen's, a ghost said to haunt the historic church, and the stories surrounding the area once known as Hell.
Other tales include the Dolocher, a mysterious creature said to have stalked Dublin's streets, and the disturbing history of Billy and the Bowl, a man born without legs who became notorious for his involvement in violent crime. Your guide will also explore the legends associated with the Hellfire Club and the Gates of Hell.
Throughout the walk, you'll hear how real events became intertwined with supernatural stories over the centuries. The tour finishes at one of Dublin's reputedly haunted pubs, where you can continue your evening if you wish.
