Located in Phoenix Park, Dublin Zoo covers almost 70 acres and is home to more than 400 animals from across the world.
As you explore the zoo, you’ll discover a range of themed habitats designed around the animals that live there. The African Savannah is one of the highlights, where giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and ostriches share large open spaces inspired by their natural surroundings.
The Kaziranga Forest Trail is home to the Asian elephants. Their habitat includes large outdoor areas where you can watch the herd spending time together throughout the day.
At the Gorilla Rainforest, you can see western lowland gorillas living among trees, climbing structures, and tropical planting. Penguin Beach and Sea Lion Cove are also popular stops during your visit, with plenty to see as you make your way around the zoo.
Dublin Zoo is also recognised for its conservation and education projects. Information throughout the zoo gives visitors the chance to learn more about the animals and the work being carried out to help protect endangered species worldwide.
During November and December, visitors can also experience Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo. This seasonal event transforms the zoo with illuminated displays and themed installations across the grounds.
