The Experience
Your experience will start in central Killarney where you will meet your guide and step onto a traditional horse drawn jaunting car.
As you leave the town you will head into the quiet paths of Killarney National Park. Your guide will take the carriage through native oak and yew woodlands while pointing out key landmarks along the way. As you travel you will enjoy the views of the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range and if you are lucky you may get to see a local herd of red deer that live in the park.
Your guide will take you near the shores of Lough Lein and then into the grounds of 15th-century Ross Castle. You will stop by the ancient fortress where your guide will talk about the O'Donoghue Clan and the history surrounding the tower keep.
You will then head back along Ross Road to the Great Southern Hotel. You will enter the hotel’s Grand Foyer to sit down for your afternoon tea. The yummy tea includes a mix of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, banana bread, pastries and a brewed tea or coffee.
