When you arrive at the castle you will head through the gates to start your exploring. The trail takes you straight into the botanic garden past tall trees and outdoor flowerbeds. Because the layout has wide open lawns and plenty of space between the hedges children will have lots of room to walk around and see what is growing.
You will then go inside the heated glass Butterfly House. The Glasshouse is kept very warm creating a tropical environment where hundreds of colourful butterflies fly across your path and land directly on the surrounding plants. Children can stop by the visual display boards to see how caterpillars turn into butterflies and watch them move from branch to branch.
You will then follow the path out towards the ancient trees to start on thee woodland trail. The route is set up with small wooden houses, secret doors and puzzle panels hidden among the tree trunks.
Let them explore the trails and spot the wildlife!
