The Experience
Get behind the wheel of a rear-wheel-drive Subaru Impreza for a half-day rally driving experience at Silverstone Rally School in Northamptonshire.
Your session begins with a classroom briefing covering safety and the basics of rally car control. You'll then head out to the driving area, where an experienced instructor will introduce you to the techniques used in rally driving.
You'll practise handbrake turns and powerslides, learning how to control the car as it moves across the loose surface. You'll also work on pendulum turns, using weight transfer to help position the car through a corner.
Once you've had time to practise, you'll put your new skills to use with three laps of Silverstone Rally School's gravel rally stage. This is your chance to bring together what you've learned and experience the challenge of driving a rally car on a loose-surface course.
The experience takes approximately 3–4 hours, including the mandatory safety briefing. You'll be part of a small group, with the driving activities organised into sessions. The order of activities may vary depending on your group.
The experience normally uses a rear-wheel-drive Subaru Impreza, although the vehicle may be substituted if required due to technical or availability issues.
