The Experience
Edinburgh is a city where food and history sit comfortably side by side.
The Edinburgh Food Tour is a guided walking experience through the Old Town that focuses on traditional Scottish food and its place in local life. Led by a knowledgeable guide, the tour introduces dishes that have remained popular through generations. The emphasis stays on understanding the city rather than ticking off landmarks.
Your experience begins with Cullen Skink, a creamy Scottish chowder that reflects the country’s coastal influence. From there, you’ll try haggis served with neeps and tatties, which continues to be a staple of Scottish cooking. Each tasting is introduced with context, helping you understand why these dishes still matter today.
Dessert brings a serving of cranachan, a traditional combination that balances richness with simplicity. A tasting of single malt Scotch follows, offering insight into Scotland’s whisky tradition without dominating the experience. Later, you’ll enjoy traditional fudge, which remains a familiar treat across Edinburgh.
As you walk between stops, your guide shares stories that link the food to the streets around you. The route through the Old Town provides a strong sense of place while keeping the pace comfortable. Time is built in to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed.
The tour finishes with a Secret Dish that brings the experience together. It offers a final taste and a satisfying close.
Explore Edinburgh through food that locals still trust!
