The Experience
The Indian Food Tour London is a guided walking experience set in East London, where Indian food culture has deep local roots.
It focuses on authentic cooking found in independent restaurants and specialist sweet shops, rather than familiar high-street names. The aim is to experience Indian food as it’s cooked and enjoyed every day.
During the tour, you’ll sample a range of traditional dishes that highlight depth of flavour. Curries are served with freshly baked naan, giving context to how these dishes are meant to be eaten. Tandoori favourites feature later, prepared using traditional methods that prioritise balance and texture.
The experience also includes a crisp savoury snack that adds contrast, followed by a visit to a traditional Indian sweet shop. Here, you’ll try classic desserts that play an important role in Indian food culture. Drinks are included throughout the tour, with options such as Indian beer or soft drinks available.
As you move between stops, your guide explains how spices are combined to build flavour rather than intensity. The pace remains relaxed, allowing time to enjoy each tasting without rushing. The route stays focused, keeping attention on the food rather than covering unnecessary ground. As with every tour, a Secret Dish is included and revealed on the day.
A straightforward way to understand Indian food in London!
